Pamela C. Smith, EdD, RN, ANP
Dr. Pamela C. Smith has more than thirty-seven years of professional experience in healthcare and education. She has held a variety of entrepreneurial and innovative positions in leadership, management, practice and academics; serving as a provider, an educator, a leader, a coach, a mentor and a consultant.
Over the course of Pamela’s career, she has had the opportunity to develop and implement new programs to meet current healthcare and educational needs. She has served in nursing leadership roles in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked as a staff nurse, a nurse manager, an operating room nurse, a clinical research nurse, a nurse practitioner, and a nurse educator. She was a founding member and the Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning, at the University of Rochester School of Nursing from 2001-2011. Pamela’s doctoral research examined professional development socialization and the process of role transition to identify the personal self for Registered Nurse First Assistants. In 2014, she co-authored the book, The Professional Nurse: Market Yourself For Successful Results. In 2015, she co-authored the journal article, RN First Assistants: A Collaborative Approach to the National Surgeon Shortage. In 2016, she authored chapter one, Leadership Theories and Frameworks Applied to Nursing Professional Development in the textbook book Leadership in Nursing Professional Development: An Organizational and System Focus.
In addition, Pamela has served as a Legal Nurse Consultant and an independent leadership consultant for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc, a Johnson & Johnson Company, Priority Thinking®, and The Academy for Leadership in Long-Term Care. Pamela is currently co-owner and co-founder of Class Act Consulting & Professional Development, LLC, and an adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the University of Rochester, School of Nursing.
Over the course of her career, Pamela has developed and delivered multiple presentations on a local, regional, and national level. She has taught courses at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral level of education. In addition, she has developed and delivered educational offerings for continuing professional education. She has also coached and mentored many individuals and groups for successful results.
Michele A. Mazurowski, BA
Michele A. Mazurowski has more than thirty-seven years of experience in the legal field. Michele realized early in her career that professional image and presentation are key to success. Flawless in her presentation, with meticulous attention to detail, she has personally shopped and advised individuals working in the corporate and legal fields on how to dress for success. Michele believes that dressing for success does not have to be costly, and that one can obtain a professional wardrobe and create a certain image on a budget.
With a background in Journalism and English literature, Michele has mentored and tutored numerous high-school and college students with their writing, communication, and research skills which led to successful results. In 2014, she co-authored the book, The Professional Nurse: Market Yourself For Successful Results.
For many years, Michele has served as Treasurer for several local committees and organizations implementing strong moral and ethical values.Over the course of Michele’s legal career, she has exhibited exemplary customer service and organizational skills that have proven instrumental in building and retaining strong business relationships necessary for innovation and growth.
Kelly M. Farrow, MS, RN, FNP-BC, CCRN
Kelly M. Farrow, of Stonechurch Creative Inc, is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in both business and healthcare. Over the course of her career Kelly has worked closely with many professional individuals to help them develop and market themselves for successful results.
Kelly earned her first baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) in 2004. It was during that time she served as a Peer Leadership Educator and New Student Mentor at the university. While working on her Business Administration degree and following graduation, Kelly applied her business knowledge and skills in her role as a Store Manager and Regional Field Trainer for Gap Inc. where she developed her strengths and skills to identify and develop new talent, increase sales, and oversee the business’ general operations. In addition, Kelly worked as a Product Marketing Manager with Buffalo Filter (a medical device manufacturer) in Buffalo, NY. She was responsible to maintain a marketing budget, prepare for and attend national trade-shows, develop marketing materials, and work with medical publications to facilitate press coverage. Kelly also worked closely with a team of engineers to help develop new products that she would be responsible to market as part of the company’s product-line. As a result of this, Kelly was often required to be present in the operating room when Buffalo Filter’s equipment was used during surgery.
Kelly’s passion for understanding healthcare grew during her time at Buffalo Filter, which led her to the University of Rochester (U of R) to study nursing. She completed a Bachelor’s of Science in 2009. During her time as a student at the U of R, she was select for a Fuld Scholarship. In addition, she was invited to be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Since graduation, she has worked as an RN in the Intensive Care Unit, Ambulatory Procedure Center (Gastroenterology), Pulmonary & Critical Care Outpatient Department, and Family Medicine Practices. She earned her Critical Care Registered Nurse Certification in 2010 and has maintained Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification since 2009. She has served as a preceptor for new graduates, co-chair of the ASPN Committee (for professional nurse advancement & promotions), and been a member of the Nursing Evidence Based Practice Committee at Highland Hospital. In 2015, Kelly graduated from the U of R with a Master's of Science Degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. Kelly has since become nationally certifed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Currently, Kelly works as a Nurse Practitioner at U of R Medical Center. In addition, she contracts with Class Act Consulting & Professional Development, LLC to provide support for our professional development services.
